We light up the Season with over 400,000 lights in the village of Ivoryton!

Visit the village of Ivoryton throughout the month of December to shop, eat and view the spectacular Illuminations! Tune your radio to 101.5FM to watch the lights dance to holiday music.

Looking for a different way to celebrate Christmas? Then head down to Ivoryton for the Ninth Annual Ivoryton Illuminations on Saturday, December 1st from 5pm to 8pm. The entire village of Ivoryton will be participating in this Holiday Extravaganza with carol singing, Santa’s Grotto, a Holiday Bazaar, culminating with the arrival of Santa and the lighting of one of the states’ largest living Christmas Trees at 6:00pm. Ivoryton will be lighting up the holiday with over 400,000 lights throughout the village!

Family activities from 5pm include writing letters to Santa and cards to our soldiers; Christmas Craft making and visits with Santa in the Ivoryton Playhouse (bring your camera if you want a picture!); a Holiday Bazaar featuring community and local church groups in the Fire House; an Elf Scavenger Hunt, cookie decorating, activities at iCRV Radio, a Petting Zoo provided by Circle K Farm, as well as special events at The Ivoryton Tavern and Cafe, Blue Hound Cookery and Taproom and Six Summit Gallery. Music will be provided by local musicians. There will also be Stuff a Cruiser to support Shoreline Soup Kitchens and a book signing by Caryn B. Davis (author and photographer of “A Connecticut Christmas: Celebrating the Holiday in Classic New England Style”) at Ivoryton Library.

Free parking will be available at the First Congregational Church with a shuttle bus service to the village. The Illuminations will shine brightly through January 5th and visitors can tune their car radios to 101.5FM and watch as the lights dance to the music!

This event is organized entirely by volunteers. Major sponsors are Christmas Décor, Essex Lions Club, Essex Rotary, Essex Saving Bank, Essex Steam Train, Hocon Gas, LC Doane, Gary Riggio, Saybrook Ford and Jay Wilcox. Other supporters: Essex Police Union, Gowrie Group, Robinson and Wright and Westbrook Elks.
