This was a great weekend for the Ivoryton Playhouse.

Friday night we opened the third production in our centennial season – Barefoot in the Park.  The event was a fundraiser for the Essex Community Fund.  It was our pleasure to host a fundraiser for this fund that helps over 40 organizations locally including the Playhouse.

The rain on Saturday night didn’t stop the Shoreline Arts Alliance hosting their fundraiser at the Playhouse.  The night was a great success for the Arts Alliance and everyone really enjoyed Barefoot!

On Sunday, the Playhouse hosted the 21st Annual Connecticut Critics Circle Awards.  The Ivoryton Playhouse was honored with a special achievement award to mark it’s 100th birthday.

Also, big congratulations to Peter Lockyer who won the CCC award for Best Director of a play for our November 2010 production of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.  A great achievement for Peter and we are thrilled for him!
