Volunteers are essential to the Ivoryton Playhouse. Not only do
they bring their creative energy and support to the theater, but
they also provide an important link to communities throughout
the Connecticut Shoreline area. Below is a sample of the
rewarding opportunities available to our Volunteers.
Ushering
Through our ushering program, individuals are offered the
opportunity to see Ivoryton productions for free. Usher
duties include stuffing and handing out programs, taking tickets
at the door and seating patrons.
Special
Events
Throughout each season the Playhouse
hosts and participates in a series of special events. These
events may include opening night receptions and parties,
Subscriber gatherings, benefits, and festivals and expositions
across the area. Volunteer activities include preparing and
serving refreshments, greeting guests, passing out information
to the public and much more. Individuals who enjoy working with
the public are best suited for these positions. Events take
place evenings and weekends.
Extra Hands
We can always use an extra pair of
hands! The Playhouse box office, as well as the marketing,
development, technical and business offices, always welcome
extra help. Projects include assisting with general auditions,
organizing mailings, hand addressing special invitations,
entering data in the computers and various other office and
back-stage activities. Individuals volunteering regularly in
these departments develop friendships with theater staff and
quickly become part of the Playhouse family. Projects take place weekday mornings, afternoons and evenings,
as well as during actual performances. |
